October 20, 2024 - An Afternoon with Doug Tallamy
On Sunday, October 20th over 100 local Floridians gathered at the Longwood Community Building to hear author and ecologist Dr. Doug Tallamy deliver an inspiring presentation. There was live harp music, presentations by FOWR board members, a book sale, raffle and opportunities to meet other nature enthusiasts.
The audience applauded Doug's message about the importance of native plants and their relevance to water quality and wildlife in the Wekiva basin. At the end of the event, every audience member was offered a list of wonderful native tree and flower suggestions and a free native plant to go home with from the local chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society, Cuplet Fern.
FOWR would like to thank Cuplet Fern for their support and generous donations!
And we’d like to thank Dr. Tallamy for joining us that afternoon and for helping us expand our knowledge so we all can make a positive impact on the environment, starting in our own backyards.
