The Wekiva River - A poem

By Cindy Newton

In the heart of Florida's embrace,

Lies a river of natural grace,

The Wekiva, where waters flow,

A haven for all to bestow.

Glistening under the sun's warm light,

Its beauty is a breathtaking sight,

Through lush woods and marshy land,

A peaceful sanctuary so grand.

Birds chirping in the trees above,

A symphony of nature's love,

Serenading the gentle breeze,

That rustles through the towering trees.

Kayaks glide on the tranquil stream,

Like a peaceful, blissful dream,

As the river meanders its way,

Into the dawn of a new day.

The Wekiva River, a treasure rare,

A place where nature's beauty we can share,

A sanctuary for all to explore,

A haven that we must adore.
