Great progress is being made on the Pavilion at Katie’s Landing

After successfully receiving a permit from St Johns Water Management District, we were able to charge forward. Early in 2023 the Seminole County Commission waived all permit fees and we are now applying for our environmental and site plan permits.  Many thanks and much appreciation to the Commission who voted to waive all permit fees. For the permitting process, there are special Wekive River Basin criteria and numerous forms to fill out. The Pavilion team is making sure we meet all requirements.

In the meantime, many of the social and maintenance issues have been resolved.  There is now an electronic gate at the park entrance and a wonderful Park Host couple living at Katie’s Landing park property. They have worked diligently to spruce up the park. Stop by and say hello to Mike and Kathy.

The pavilion kit has been ordered with tentative delivery between March 31 and April 4. Our contractor, Jason Snodgrass, with Watagua Construction will have the ground work ready before the kit arrives. Jason will also apply for the building permit after our FOWR Pavilion Team receives the environmental and site plan permits.

Many thanks to Lance Hart our environmental consultant and Andrew Giannini, our engineer who continue to assist us with the technical detail of the permitting process.

We look forward to a Grand Opening Celebration in April.

The kit will provide the materials to construct a  shelter very similar to this sample picture (24’x44’) with the exception of having a white roof to coordinate with the existing  bathroom facility at Katie’s Landing. It will be built with laminate wood and have a gable roof. Image by RCP Shelters, Inc
