Update on the Little Wekiva River August 2024

Substantial sediment has been removed and water is flowing again through the Little Wekiva River at varying depths ranging from about three - seven feet. Seminole County will continue to monitor further sediment coming in from upstream of the project area and assess what additional measures are needed.

Continued removal of invasive plants and planting of native species along the river will be a focus in the upcoming months. We will continue to work with the County and their experts to ensure the health and stability of this very special part of the Wekiva River system.
