Fall 2024 Little Wekiva Update

The Little Wekiva remains a river in transition. The rains and two major storms coming through has continued to move around the invasive sediment and it is too soon to tell the full impact. It seems that the restoration work completed to date by Seminole County helped to prevent the level of flooding of homes that occurred in the last major storm. Work remains in assessing and addressing the impact of the sediment that remained upstream of the project area. Until the water fully recedes, there is an impressive amount of water flowing through and adjacent to the river.
