Here are the details:

Social Media Coordinator/ Visual Information Specialist

Duties:

The incumbent of the position serves as a visual information specialist and social media coordinator who supports public outreach through multi-media projects. Work includes supporting program plans developed by program supervisors for such visual materials as photographs, illustrations, diagrams, graphs, objects, models slides and charts, magazine, pamphlets, exhibits, live or video recorded speeches or lectures, and other means of communication such as web content where the general format and specific themes to be illustrated are predetermined. Visual information is communicated by means of printed material, exhibits, and a variety of web-based products, including social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must.

Duties may include:

1. Manage and update the WordPress website, including creating new pages, updating and creating content, and optimizing the site for search engines.

2. Create and publish posts on Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms. Engage with followers and appropriately respond to comments and messages. Create and manage advertising campaigns across social media channels to promote events, programs, and initiatives.

3. Maintain sufficient working knowledge of new and emerging technologies to continually evaluate and improve media products such as Canva, Eventbrite, Linktree, and Google Suite.

4. Select visual materials to support text and enhance esthetic appeal of posts, publications, and presentations. Research and create accurate text to accompany

visual materials.

5. Collaborate with team members, including committee members, volunteers, contractors, exhibit fabricators, graphic designers, and private companies to coordinate creation, fabrication and installation of media products which are aligned with the mission, goals and objectives of the Program.

6. Update and optimize the organization's YouTube channel by uploading footage from

events and promoting the channel to increase viewership.

7. Monitor and analyze website traffic, social media engagement, and advertising

campaigns to measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts and make data- driven

decisions and provide a summary of engagement for quarterly meetings.

8. Must be able to work independently with a proven track record of success.

This is a Part-Time/ Remote Work Position as an Independent Contractor. Must have laptop or desktop computer, and access to hi-speed internet. Please submit cover letter, resume and three professional references to: riverambassador@friendsofwekivariver.org no later than

A background check will be conducted prior to hiring. 25-30 hours per week based on project needs. Rate of Pay $25-$30/hour based on skill level. Availability to work some weekends is a requirement based on event needs. Preferred candidate will be located in Central Florida and have a familiarity with the Wekiva Wild & Scenic River System.
